What used to be the old Star Walk Buffet from back in the days, Royale Fine Dining is a great place if you're looking for good quality traditional Chinese food.
They are popular on weekends with their dim-sum and the quality is above most places, even those Scarborough locations I tend to frequent.
The interior is elegant and the venue is very spacious whether here for a family meal or a private event, this place can cater to any requests.
Parking is ample, however can be a challenge during peak dinner time.
I've been here for dim sum and for a private event, both times were great.
I would highly recommend it. -

The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. I came here several times for their early bird dim sum when they offer small/medium/large dim sum dishes for $3.70 each.
Service:
The service isn't attentive but they have quite a lot of waiters in the restaurant so it isn't difficult to get someone's attention.
Food:
(My experience is based on the dim sum menu only)
During my first time here, I wasn't very satisfied with the food. But I enjoyed the food when I visited again. I think it really depends on what you order. I think some of the dim sum items are executed well while others are mediocre at best. The quality is decent if you are paying the early bird dim sum prices.
Overall:
This is a decent place for dim sum if you can get here before 11am for their early bird dim sum pricing. Otherwise, I wouldn't come because I don't think the quality is worth the regular prices. -

Review is for dimsum only. We had Sunday dimsum here with the family and it was mostly a pleasant experience. The experience started out strong. It was a busy afternoon but they have a solid system of numbers and seating people as soon as tables are free. We were seated after a short 5 minute wait. The atmosphere is clean and bright, and everything looked properly cared for versus the usual worn out look of dim sum restaurants.
The dimsum is ordered by ticking off a paper sheet. I miss the days of push carts, but the world has obviously moved on from that tradition. The dishes are cooked to order because almost everything came to the table piping hot. Both fried and steamed dishes were well made. The only dish that was strangely cold was the 'freshly baked egg tarts'. They kept our table clear of empty dishes and made sure there was plenty of tea for everyone.
However, there were several blips to the meal, especially at the end of service. They forgot to enter a dish that we checked off during the first round, and then a dish from the second round never came. We didn't want to wait so we just had the service cancel it for us.
Overall not a bad experience, just don't have your heart set on a particular dish because it may not arrive before your leave. Everything else that arrives is good though! -

We came here for a large gathering of family for lunch on a recent weekend. To be honest, I paid much more attention to the conversation than the food, but several impressions stuck. Not bad, as in, nothing tasted out of the ordinary; dim-sums were perhaps more remarkable for their generous size than being delicate; service was pretty responsive, and the variety seemed to be good. Perhaps reserving final judgment for when could come for dinner, as that giant screen suggests there are some interesting offerings at good prices.

Fine dining for 4 people for $144 after tax is a very reasonable price.
We ordered their cheapest set meal for $128 cash price and like any set meal, it first came with soup and ended with sweet soup.
Location: 4/5
Decor/Ambience: 4.5/5
Beautiful entrance and even more glamorous interior decor. One of the best ceiling chandelier and designs I have seen without being too over the top. They have plenty of seating and big round tables as expected of a banquet hall, but their two large screens can be quite distracting and blaring as they are always on.
Food quality: 5/5
Soup: rich clear broth with pheasant was well liked by me and my dinner guests.
One of my friends has always been skeptical of Chinese food at first, because the places she had tried before mostly had the fast food variety or Westernized buffet style that were not authentic or of good quality. However, from the get go, she enjoyed the soup, loved both the two versions of Peking duck and the accompanying veggies and wraps, the chicken and the sirloin meat made into caramelized balls. She loved everything that she ate and this place gave her a much better impression of Chinese food. She would recommend to her family members.
Steamed Jumbo Shrimps: so much shrimps! Simple, fresh, large and tasty!
Peking duck: I loved how they first showed us the duck and then they skinned the duck next to us and presented the skins in such a beautiful flower. My guests thought the meat was tender and the skins were crispy. The veggies were all finely cut. My friends really enjoyed this combo.
Beef: had plenty of mushrooms and broccolis, so pescegan me was very happy last night! The beef balls were flavoured well and they were juicy and done well.
They gave us half a drunken chicken and the meat came off easily from the skin and was not tough.
The red bean sweet soup was not too sweet and had the perfect consistency between soup base and red beans!!
I like how they served exact numbers of mango pudding and almond cookies for us 4 to share.
Service: 5/5
I think it might be because the staff recognizes or knows us, but they made my white coworker friend, who never had proper Chinese food before, feel so welcomed. They explained how they made all their dishes to her in English and even how to eat the Peking duck wraps. She truly enjoyed herself and was thankful of me for bringing her there. They changed our plates like 5 times, each time with smoothness and friendly remarks, making sure that everything is fine with our dinner. The original combo came with fish, but we had it changed to chicken, since my Caucasian friend does not eat fish, at no extra price! They refilled our teas promptly and they served us both soup and desserts for us. One of the best service I have had at a Chinese restaurant. We were all very impressed and pleased with their food and service here.
Value: 5/5
They gave us so much food that all four of us had a small box of leftovers to take home, even though all of us were as stuffed as our stomachs possibly could be. Such great portions for the buck!
At first, I was worried about where I should bring my coworker friends to for their first Chinese dinner, but I am so glad that I gave this place a try!! Will definitely come back and host more parties here! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Price is more than reasonable.
